Announcing its sixth retail outpost in India, Gucci's space in Kolkata's Quest Mall is one of the largest fashion boutiques in the city's first major luxury shopping destination.
"Gucci has been directly operating in India since 2009," says Patrizio di Marco, Gucci president and CEO. "It's the perfect luxury brand for this market, because of its strong brand heritage stemming from decades of tradition and innovation."
Based on a design concept by the label's creative director, Frida Giannini, the Gucci Kolkata store is outfitted in rosewood and marble, complemented by Art Deco details like smoked mirror, bronze glass and geometric lines.
While the boutique doesn't stock ready-to-wear garments yet, the current offering includes Gucci bestsellers, like their monogrammed handbags, shoes and silks, along with watches, jewellery and fragrances. The label's successful children's collection is also available here.
